What to expect after fillers
Fillers smooth the hollows under the skin left by wrinkles and ageing for a younger, more radiant look. Mild swelling, redness or bruising at the injection sites is normal and settles within days.
The risks
- Swelling, bruising and tenderness (temporary).
- Lumps or unevenness if not placed correctly.
- Asymmetry or over-filling.
- Allergic reaction (uncommon).
- Rare but serious vascular complications if injected into a vessel — which is why an experienced injector matters.
Fillers or fat?
Fillers are quicker, cheaper per session and reversible (hyaluronic acid), but temporary. Fat transfer is a bigger procedure but uses your own tissue for a natural, longer-lasting result. The right choice depends on your goals.
